Besides TAGS, one of my other favorite shows is Mad About You. I was watching an episode just now which featured the following bit of dialog;
Jamie: You got a call. Paul: Oh yeah? Who? Jamie: Andy Griffith. Paul: Who? Jamie: Andy Griffith. Paul: I don't know Andy Griffith. Are you sure? Jamie: That's what he said. Paul: You sure it was Griffith? -ith? Jamie: Yes, Griffith. -ith. The scene goes on like this for a bit, then finally Paul calls the number she'd written down. Turns out the call was really from Randy Rifkin (she had the TV on). Well, maybe it's not funny the way I tell it, but I had to smile. Reminded me of how many people I've met who tell me their all-time favorite TV show is "Andy Griffin." Every time I hear that, I'm tempted to ask if they mean the show he did with Don Knox.
