Friends, I want to thank so many of you who sent condolences via Facebook and
emails for Linda and me for the loss of our beloved kitty Buffy. Buffy would
have been 19 years old in two weeks, but we had to make the decision today to
let her go. It was the hardest thing we have ever had to do in our married
life. Two hours later I was standing in front of a group of Rotary Club
members doing a Mayberry presentation. I wasn't sure that I could do it or even
if I wanted to do it. But I had committed myself to be their speaker. I
explained the situation to them and went forward with the program. It was
amazing that I could laugh with all those fine folks as we spent 45 minutes in
Mayberry. That is truly the beauty and wonder of Mayberry. It can change a
time of grief and sorrow to a time of happiness and laughter all within a few
minutes. Many times over the past 50 years I have turned to TAGS to help me
through some very difficult times. The wonderful thing now is that I not only
have those wonderful Mayberry folks to help me over the tough times, but I also
have all you wonderful folks in our Digest Family doing the same. God bless
each of you and thank you for being there for us.
