I've enjoyed this thread about the first words spoken on screen by various
characters, but the scene in which Barney "reports with an important mesage" is
not the first time we hear Barney speak. His actual first line is "You ain't
supposed to speak," to Opie, when the boy pipes up during the wedding in the
opening scene (of episode number one).

And the scene with Aunt Bee at the pickup truck is not the first time we see
her, that scene comes at the end of the episode, right before the epilogue.
The first time we see her is at Andy's front door (and I still haven't figured
out how she got there -- why didn't Andy meet her at the bus stop? But I
digress).

Several years ago, there was a series of 8 collectible plates from TAGS, and
whoever chose the names for the plates was also mixed up, as that one was
called "Meeting Aunt Bee." The artist must also have been working from a black
and white photo, because the truck on the plate is blue, and the real one was
tan with a red pinstripe. It can be seen in color on one of the trading cards.

Speaking of the TAGS trading cards, if you don't have any then head on over to
Weaver's (www.iMayberry.com) and pick up a set or two. I donated them (and a
bunch of other stuff too), and the money goes to help victims of the Joplin
tornado.
