I gave my 37th Mayberry Presentation today since starting back in 2007. In
fact the church that I was at today was also my first presentation I had
done. Of course back then I didn't have a PowerPoint presentation or my
uniform or my squad car, so they were very surprised to see all the
changes. Two ladies in the audience were classmates of Joel Redlund, AKA
Ferdie, who was Clara Edward's nephew in the Keevey Hazelton episode. They
remembered him very well and had no idea he had been in TAGS. One person
also remembered Patty Regan from school here in Eau Claire. Patty appeared
in two episodes of TAGS. One lady has been to three of my presentations
and was surprised how each one is a little different. Today's group of
church women was the perfect place to bring out my bottle of Colonel
Harvey's Elixir prop that I made. I offer to sell it after showing the
clip of Aunt Bea and her church group singing around the piano. I have
another presentation next week at an assisted living complex in Eau
Claire. Just because of all these wonderful folks who love to learn about
Mayberry, I have been able to donate over $1000 dollars to my hometown
library just this year. I keep my fee at only $50 so small groups can
afford to get me, but quite often groups will give me more when they learn
it goes to the library. The same thing happened last year when I donated
the money to the food pantry. There are still a lot of great Mayberry
people out there in this great land of ours. I am sure each of you knows
many as I do. Bless them all.
