As I sit here on yet another Thanksgiving Day reflecting upon all the blessings that I have had in my life, one that certainly deserves to be at the top of my list is the blessing of having grown up where and when I did. So often I am accused of trying to live in the past; yet the truth of the matter is that I embrace all the wonderful things that we have in these times, but I refuse to let go of the many memories that I have of growing up in a much simpler time and place. All those wonderful simple pleasures that I experienced growing up helped to mold me into the person I am today. I like to think that those values that were instilled in me by my teachers, friends, and family are still an important part of me today. So often we are thankful for the materialistic blessings that we have and too often we forgot those intrinsic blessings that are invisible to those around us. It is trough the joys of TAGS and our daily Digest that I am reminded each day of all the things I have to be thankful for. To all you wonderful Mayberry folks out there today, I want to wish you a very happy Thanksgiving Day and may you be forever mindful of the blessings and gifts that have been bestowed upon you.
