I thought we needed a Mayberry Christmas song for us to all sing this year with our family and friends. So I have rewritten the lyrics to the Twelve Days of Christmas and have entitled it The Twelve Days of a Mayberry Christmas.
On the first day of Christmas my true love sent to me – a hoot owl in a pine tree. On the 2nd day of Christmas my true love sent to me – 2 fun girls, and a hoot owl in a pine tree. On the 3rd day of Christmas my true love sent to me – 3 crying birds, 2 fun girls, and a hoot owl in a pine tree. On the 4th day of Christmas my true love sent me – 4 broken windows, 3 crying birds, 2 fun girls, and a hoot owl in a pine tree. On the 5th day of Christmas my true love sent to me – 5 kerosene pickles, 4 broken windows, 3 crying birds, 2 fun girls, and a hoot owl in a pine tree. On the 6th day of Christmas, my true love sent to me, 6 shiny bullets, 5 kerosene pickles, 4 broken windows, 3 crying birds, 2 fun girls, and a hoot owl in a pine tree. On the 7th day of Christmas my true love sent to me, 7 rocks a flying, 6 shiny bullets, 5 kerosene pickles, 4 broken windows, 3 crying birds, 2 fun girls, and a hoot owl in a pine tree. On the 8th day of Christmas my true love sent to me 8 stills a brewing, 7 rocks a flying, 6 shiny bullets, 5 kerosene pickles, 4 broken windows, 3 crying birds , 2 fun girls, and a hoot owl in a pine tree. On the 9th day of Christmas, my true love sent to me, 9 thieves a thieving, 8 stills a brewing, 7 rocks a flying, 6 shiny bullets, 5 kerosene pickles, 4 broken windows, 3 crying birds, 2 fun girls, and a hoot owl in a pine tree. On the 10th day of Christmas, my true love sent to me – 10 Goobers gassing, 9 thieves a thieving, 8 stills a brewing, 7 rocks a flying, 6 shiny bullets, 5 kerosene pickles, 4 broken windows, 3 crying birds, 2 fun girls, and a hoot owl in a pine tree.
