At this time of year, nearly everyone equates Christmas as the exchange of
colorfully decorated boxes and bags.
That is the commercial side of Christmas.Yes,old Ben Weaver was glad people
bought gifts from his department
store.Today, people have forgotten the reason for the season.I do hope you get
that "gotta have it present".

For my extended Mayberry family,I wish for you a much less glitzy, over the top
Christmas.What I wish for you
would exemplify the true meaning of Mayberry.

For Christmas, I wish for you a day of ordinary miracles....a fresh pot of
coffee you didn't have to make yourself...
an unexpected phone call from an old friend...all green stoplights on your way
to work...the fastest line at the
grocery store...a good sing-a-long song on the radio...your keys right where
you left them...for your pet to
think you are the greatest...for your kids/grandkids to think you are the
greatest...good health...good friends...
good times.

Want to know how wealthy you are?...count your blessings!
Never take life for granted...today you could be living on Park
Avenue...tomorrow you could be living on a park bench.
