Now that we have cleared up the debate of Aunt Bee or Aunt Bea, I have come across another discrepancy regarding the color of Barney's eyes. I have several official Barney Fife driver's licenses and on them both his eye color is listed as brown without an e. However, when Barney tells Andy that he is going to keep his eyes on the hobo Mr. Dave Browne with an e, he says, "I am going to keep these baby blues open". So what is my friends, does Barney have blue eyes or brown eyes? Maybe he has one of each. I taught with a gal for 30 years who had one green eye and one blue eye. Or maybe his eye color changes with the light. Kind of like those of old man Rimshaw. So any ideas out there?
