Just got through watching the TAGS episode where Barney gives a parking ticket
to the Governor's car. The whole time Barney is writing out the ticket, the
Governor's driver (Rance Howard) is standing there grinning like there is
something funny going on. I worked for the federal government (military) for
25 years, and I can tell you for sure that if I had checked out a government
vehicle and then returned it with a parking ticket, there would certainly be
nothing funny going on to me. I drove government vehicles for 25 years and
about 50,000 miles, without an accident or ticket. But if I had ever showed
up with a ticket, my boss would have had my heels locked in front of his desk
explaining myself. That would not be very funny to me. Any fellow employee
of mine who thought the law did not apply to them, or that some how being a
government employee put them above the law was quickly disabused of that notion.

Orville Hendricks - The Butter and Egg Man. That is what I loved about the
military and federal government. Rules were rules and they applied to
everyone.
