Back when I first started teaching in 1967 boots like Andy's were very popular. We had a dress code back then and kids were not allowed to wear the boots to school because they made dark streaks on the floor that were very difficult to remove. The boots at that time were referred to as "engineer boots". They looked a lot like the kind Andy wore and that would be around the same time era, but I can't say for sure if they would be the same.
