I thought I would share a bit of publicity about an upcoming Mayberry
presentation
that I will be doing at a public library in a town six miles from where I
grew up.
Earlier that same day I will be doing a presentation to a group of retired
teachers
in Marshfield, Wisconsin, a community of about 12000.

TV nostalgia
TV nostalgia continues with a tribute to Mayberry.
The Andy Griffith Show, (1960-1968) and Mayberry
RFD (1968-1971) were televised on CBS and featured
favorite actors such as Andy Griffith, Ron Howard,
Don Knotts, Frances Bavier, Jim Nabors, George
Lindsey and Ken Berry. Books featuring lifestyles
and values of that time period are featured and available for checkout.

Mayberry presentation
The Friends of the CPL will hold its annual meeting
Monday, March 19, at 5 p.m. in the Community Room
of the Colby City Hall. Foods from Mayberry will be
served during the meeting. At 6 p.m. that same evening,
Ken Anderson, formerly from Dorchester and now residing in Eau Claire, will
be joining the group for a free
presentation. Dressed as Barney Fife and an avid collector of Mayberry
memorabilia, Anderson focuses
on the values present in the Mayberry years, which he
finds still necessary in today's society. He has published
a book, "Mayberry Reflections: The Early Years," currently available at the
Colby Public Library. The public
is invited to the Mayberry presentation — you do not
have to be a Friends member to attend the show.
