I suspect that since Aunt Bee hails from Morgantown, WVA, that might be
where the Taylor family originated. One possible editing error was when Aunt
Bee says to Arnold, in announcing his 13th birthday party, that she
remembers getting his birth announcement. Remember she didn't come to Andy's
till Opie was around 5 years old and he is the same age or near that of
Arnold. Of course, Aunt Bee could've been friends with his family and
received the announcement up in WVA too but it seems a stretch. I think the
writers were merely honoring Don Knotts' hometown. Just my 2 cents!
