In the 7th TAGS show, Barney asks the famous Hollywood producer, Mr. Harmon, if
he knows Gabby Hayes. Mr. Harmon replied that indeed he does, and he even
spoke to Gabby before he left Hollywood. I guess almost everyone knows that
Gabby Hayes was most famous for being Roy Roger's comic sidekick in several
western movies. And even though Gabby never actually appeared on TAGS, several
comic western sidekicks did appear.I can think of at least 4 men who appeared
on TAGS who earlier in their careers were sidekicks to western stars. There
may have been more I do not remember. Can anyone guess who appeared on TAGS
after being a western sidekick?Small hint, the sidekick did not necessarly
appear in a movie. Another small hint, one man supported Rex Allen, one
supported Hopalong Cassidy, and one supported The Durango Kid. I am not going
to tell you who the other man supported. See how many of the sidekicks you can
guess. Orville Hendricks - The Butter and Egg Man. I guess about all the kids
who attended western movies on Saturdays are just about gone now, no one left
to remember riding the range with Gene and Roy.
