In the opening credits, since both fishing rods have bobbers on the ends, my
guess is Andy had a jar of salmon eggs, a small can of corn, marshmallows,
or even 'a dab of cheese and a slice of onion' (What Gomer uses when he
fishes for trout with Birdie Blush). The fact that they have bobbers lends
itself to 'real' bait, not fake, as real-food bait needs to sit there, be
noticed and eaten, thus the bobber indicating a 'fish on'. Fake baits,
spinners, crank baits, etc would not be used with a bobber. There's a bunch
of stuff you could fish with that would fit easily into Andy's front pocket.

Lots of luck to you and yours!

Barb,I posed this same question about two years, but do not recall any
responses.Weenie Man states he just sees the
tackle box and fishing poles in the opening scene of each episode.I do not
see a tackle box in any opening scene.
