All of this talk about sidekicks left out one notable one, from radio. Someone did correctly mention Parley Baer's role as Chester on the radio version of "Gunsmoke," but don't forget "Windy Wails," the comic relief from the "Bobby Benson" radio series of the 1950s. That crusty comic relief was played by none other than Don Knotts.
