Early this morning, I was watching Tuner Classic Movies. They were showing
"Annie Get Your Gun". I do not remember ever seeing it before. Well
anyways, at the start of the show, Frank Butler is working for Buffalo Bill in
his Wild West Show. Frank is supposed to be some sort of expert marksman.
The show would go from town to town and Frank would challenge all comers to a
shooting contest. They arrived in this one town, and lo and behold, Annie
Oakley took the challenge. Now get this, the contest was a skeet shooting
contest. And the Annie beat the Frank. Does any of that sound familiar?
Later I got to thinking, that Gail Davis, who played Karen Moore on TAGS had
earlier played Annie Oakley for 3 years on the TV show "Annie Oakley". Orville
Hendricks - Peddling Butter and Eggs. I am a pretty poor shot, which is
ironic since I spent 32 years in the military.
