As I sit here, still saddened by the death of Andy, as well as Barney & all the rest that have left us---I wonder why is the effect of these losses so great. Other celebrities die, and life goes on the very next day. Well, I think I have the answer, & that's "family"! That's right---FAMILY!! I was 10 years old in 1960, when the show began, & for 52 years, Andy & all the rest have been in our homes. During the years in ran, it was once a week. But, with reruns on numerous channels & the DVD collection, & Bible Study episodes, it's hundreds of times per year. Add that to meeting all the TAG fans at Mayberry Days every year, and it all becomes a huge part of our lives, & "family"!! I am proud to be part of this elite fraternity, and will continue now, more than ever. May the laughs & "one liners" continue forever. Ben Weaver, from NC.
