We had a very enjoyable four hours tonight at another Burger King car show.
We took both cars but of course the squad car received the most attention
of the two. One gentleman stopped by and told me he had lived in Nashville
for quite a while and he had been a member of the TAGRWC there. He said
his chapter had a bus that they would use to travel around in and they had
all the episodes on tape so they would watch them. I was going to write
down his name, but then I was approached by another group and by the time
they left I had forgotten his name. Perhaps he sounds familiar to some of
you from the Nashville area. He said he isn't a member now.

While sitting out in front reading last night a lady came by and was
walking with her mother who was using a walker. Right in front of me they
quickly turned around and headed back. I stood up and said, "Miss, you
just made an illegal U turn and I could give you a ticket for that." They
really laughed. I was not in uniform so I seriously considered running up
to them yelling "Citizen's Arrest, Citizen's Arrest", but I wasn't sure if
they would grasp the meaning and I didn't want to scare them.

Our county is having a big open house and tours this weekend for the new
courthouse/jail addition, and would you believe they haven't invited the
Mayberry Guru to attend. I would think that would have been a nice
addition to their day having the old squad car sitting out with the new
ones and having old Barney Boy serve as a greeter. But I think I have
shared with you how our city police officers are rather unfriendly to my
character. I bet if I were in a small town it wouldn't happen. So guess I
will go on the tour in plain clothes. But my suit has small white stripes,
so not sure if that would be plain enough to wear.
