I had a very unusual experience at a car show this weekend. First of all
the show and parade were wonderful and we received a Best of Show Award and
were invited to several other parades. The unusual thing was another
Mayberry Squad Car showed up. A gentleman drive in with a 1960 Mayberry
Squad Car. When I saw him come in I was so excited I went over to his car
and stopped him. I had my Barney outfit on and my car was right there. I
shook his hand and welcomed him to the show and told him it was great to
see another squad car. Well, that was the last I saw of him. I went over
to his car three times but he was nowhere near it. He didn't put his name
or where he was from on his registration poster so I have no idea who is
his or where he came from. He didn't come over to our car at all. I saw
him later in the parade but he took off right after the parade and didn't
return to the car show. I was so hoping to visit with him, but perhaps he
isn't a big fan like so many of us. I felt bad about it but there wasn't
really anything I could do. I asked around but no one I talked to could
tell me his name. I am beginning to think he must have been from someplace
else. But he didn't say anything so I couldn't even check an accent.
Maybe he wasn't a living being. Curiouser and curiouser.
