Today on findagrave.com I was looking for info on Madge Blake who played Mrs. Mondello on Leave It To Beaver. In reading her biography there was a bit of trivia that said she was offered the part of Aunt Bea on the Andy Griffith Show, but had to turn the part down due to her contract requirements for Leave It To Beaver, but that she recommended her good friend Frances Bavier for the part. I have never heard this before, is this old news to some of you who know a whole lot more than me?
