I apologize for posting so often about parades and car shows, but they are always such wonderful experiences.
Several weeks ago we were invited by a VFW Commander to attend a special car show which was today. It was to be a 9/11 commemorative show. Representatives would be there from the military, police, and fire and rescue departments. It was held in the western part of Wisconsin where we had never shown the car before. We went today and it was a wonderful experience. They had over 200 beautiful cars and super displays from the military including a Viet Nam Helicopter. I was able to visit with many veterans and police officers. The reception we received was just overwhelming. So many people came over to us to shake our hands and thank us for attending. It was the first time any of the people there had seen a Mayberry replica car so needless to say there were many pictures and videos taken. I have three large framed picture collections on easels by the front of the car. All the pictures show various scenes from TAGS. The people just love looking at them and asking questions. It is really great to see parents pointing to various pictures and telling their young children what they are about. Sad news for me is that we have just four more events scheduled before the car goes in for a big face lift. It will be repainted and much of the chrome will either be replaced with new pieces or be re-plated. Thinking ahead to next summer already so I want it to be in tip top shape. Say, that would be a great name for a little cafe, The Tip Top Cafe. Wonder if anyone has ever thought of that. -- Ken Anderson The Mayberry Guru 2906 May Street Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701 www.mayberryreflections.com _______________________________________________ WBMUTBB mailing list [email protected] http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
