Claire, Wisconsin.

Ken is a lucky guy.
My wife and I need to start checking out a place to move to up there, need a
new neighbor Ken ?

Allan/Floyd showed me that the quickest and easiest way to look up this kind of
information is the "Cast Birthdays" link on imayberry.com. ? Just sort your
results on Birth Date, and you will see the oldest to most recent birth dates
for the cast members. ?This is much easier than using IMDB!

...Who knows, if they would have stuck with Hopper, maybe Barney would have
been Barney Fike.

TAGS fans,

My sons got me "Maverick - Season 1" for Father's Day and one TAGS alumni we've
spotted is Will Wright (the first Ben Weaver). ?He's shown up twice in this
season. ?Once as a defense attorney in an episode that had the other two Ben
Weavers as well! ?And also in an episode called "Black Fire" in which he starts
out very Ben Weaverish and grumpy but then decides he likes Maverick.

I was working my shift as Festival Food's "Professional Consumer Multiple
Purchases Packaging Specialist" today and a woman came through my lane.
After she unloaded all her food I noticed several bags of candy under her
purse.  When I asked her if she wanted them she got all flustered and
said,"Oh no I could have walked away with those and the police would be
called."  At that point I took my  Barney Fife Drivers License ID out of my
pocket and showed it to her and said I was working undercover.  She laughed
and then looked at me and said, "Oh, you are that guy with the squad car."
I just love it when those unplanned Mayberry moments pop up out of nowhere.

Hey all. I regret that I can't make this year's Mayberry Days. I have attended
for 20 years in a row. I do have 2 tickets to the Doug Dillard Tribute
Friday night and 2 tickets to Colonel Tim's Talent Time Saturday night. If
anyone is in need of tickets email me. I will give you a good deal.

Anywhere they list last name first.....she'd be Hopper Bee.

After researching this I think I have the answer. The oldest living person
still alive who acted in TAGS is William Schallert, who was born 7-6-1922. That
would make him 90. He played Sam Becker ( That strange duck) in episode 29
Quiet Sam.?Thanks to Allen or I mean Floyd for the help. See all of you next
week in Mayberry. I can't wait. Shazam. Mike "The Scamp"

As someone mentioned a few days ago, the current issue of the eBullet has a
neat story from Rance Howard revealing that Andy Taylor was originally going to
be called Andy Hopper.  At some early point somebody decided that name wasn't
quite right, so they "took a think" and came up with Andy Taylor instead.  What
is not mentioned in the article, though, is that Andy Griffith's grandmother
was named Taylor.  Surely this fact figured into the decision.

I have updated the Mayberry Days website with photos and a list of items that
have been donated for this year's auction. Always room for more if you have
something you'd like to donate. I'll put out another request for some help on
Saturday during the auction. I've heard from a couple "regulars" who are unable
to attend this year.
