My wife and I attended Mayberry Days 2012 for the ninth consecutive year.As
usual,I saw several Mayberry
folk from years past, and met a slew of new ones.Met a very nice couple from
California.Also saw where
someone signed a registery at a local eatery...that person was from South
Africa.Now that is loving some
Mayberry!

There were some really nice items at the silent auction.Jeff Koontz does a
super job of managing that portion
of the festival. He does a lot of behind the scenes work. There was an influx of
new folks donating items.

I asked Jackie Joseph about the stump she and Ernest T jumped over.I was
wondering if the stump was
real or a tv prop. She said it was a real stump. She said the first time she
attempted to jump it that the back of
her skirt caught the stump and she landed face first on the ground. She
collected herself like a real trooper and
nailed it on the next take.

George Spence,Maggie Petersen Mancusso,James Best, and Jackie Joseph stayed at
the same motel as we did.
Super nice people.

The trivia contest was nothing but pure cut-throat.I got two out of twenty
correct.May not sound like much,but
I was elated considering the difficulty of the questions.

Am so looking forward to MD 2013.

The gestation period for giraffes is about fourteen to fifteen months...no
doggone wonder they are so selfish.
