It sure is interesting how often an actress is typecast as 'everybody's mother'. Our Mrs. Sprague ( Mabel Albertson) was also Mrs. Frank Stevens on 'Bewitched' and Mrs. Hollinger, Don's mother on 'That Girl' as well as a mother on the New Dick VanDyke Show. Similarly, another 'mother figure', Doris Roberts, although not crossing over the Mayberry town limits, was in 'Play the Game' along with Andy Griffith.
