Hello All: I have enjoyed the discussion on the ABCs. When I was in the police academy and took the radio class, we were told several things to keep numbers clear and words. This include saying like d david etc. And saying multiple digits one at a time. To keep the numbers clear. That included for say 2579, which is two, fiver, seven, niner. The reason we added the ER to 5 an 9 was to clarify since on a radio, especially in the days of large HTS, sound quality was poor. And the 5 and 9 couldn't get mixed up. And 0 was always zero in reference to numbers, where we might say o for zero. This helped with any sound alikes. So there's my 2cents worth.
