A nice surprise on TCM this evening, The Bishop's Wife, with David Niven, Cary
Grant and Loretta Young. I've seen this movie a million and a half times but I
noticed something tonight so Don Knotts like that I'm beside myself. Early in
the movie the Bishop returns to his dinner table after his first encounter with
an angel. He's still in a state of shock as he picks up his water glass and
suddenly the ice tinkle and don't stop. The Bishop's wife asks him if he's
nervous. In a most perfect Barney look alike (and Niven suit Knotts to a T) his
eyes bug out, his neck elongates and he barely whispers "No." I'll always be
looking for that scene now in future airings....

an old wives tale"...."Johnny Paul ain't married"........
