A while back we discussed the first utterance of "Nip it in the bud". I don't
remember if anyone quoted John Adams but here's one of his quotes dating to
1774.
"Nip the shoots of abitrary power in the bud,is the only maxim which can ever
preserve the liberties of any people.".....John Adams, Essays 1774-1775
