I have heard this saying ("You are a bird in this world") here in NC. I grew
up in Greensboro, one hour from Mt. Airy. Many of the comments and sounds Andy
makes are very familiar to me. I'm sure he incorporated many things he heard
growing up. It was just a part of him I imagine. I think the "Bird in this
world" comment about Barney means "You are really something hard to believe!"
The "gol----ly" and the "Well I'll be dogged" and many others are also things I
grew up hearing. When I hear Andy say them it reminds me of my own Dad, so
that is something special about the show to me. Krista
