On Picking Tobacco, There are two types of tobacco grown, Leaf Tobacco and Burley Tobacco. You are right that you do cut Burley Tobacco, because you harvest the whole plant. But you neither pick or cut Leaf Tobacco, You Pull it. Or in better terms you break the leaf from the plant by pulling it off.
