I think green was just a popular color then. I am watching the brady bunch as I write this (in fact Gentleman Dan is a waiter lol!) and they have a lot of green in the house. My house was built in 1952 and when refinishing the cabinets I saw green deep down in them. Plus our bedroom walls when we removed the wood panneling was green. So I guess it was just a popular color. I think we even had a green fridge once!
