The only reference to Thelma Lou's occupation was in "Man in the Middle" episode where Barney tries to get Thelma Lou and Helen back together by inviting them to meet him at the courthouse at the same time. Thelma Lou says, "I have to get back to the office." That's as much as we know. It's anybody's guess what office and what she did at the office.
