Hi folks, Well, I checked off a bucket list item a few weeks ago when I visited Mt Airy on my way down the east coast with a final destination of Key West. Everyone I met in My Airy was as pleasant as could bea (I think that's how we spell it on this list). Now Key West was different -- personally, I think those people are from somewhere's else... ;-)
Short afternoon stop but very enjoyable all the same. Very helpful folks in the visitors center. Pork chop sandwich at Snappy's Lunch. Almost expected to see the gang sitting in Floyd's Barbershop. Saw the statue and enjoyed all the things to see at The Andy Griffith Museum. And thoroughly enjoyed the My Airy Museum of Regional History. While I was transplanted to New England as a child, I still have fond memories of both of my grandparents' homes in rural southern WV. So, the regional museum was an unexpected extra treat. Nice to see a deep appreciation of Andy & the show's fans, and pix of tribute stars scattered around town in several locations. Yup, that stop in Mt Airy is as close as I'll ever get to Mayberry. -Dave _______________________________________________ WBMUTBB mailing list [email protected] http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
