Some final thoughts on the jealousy between Andy and Helen. I think part
of the reason there wasn't much jealousy betwixt Andy and Peggy was that
they didn't know each other long enough for jealousy to exist. Peggy came
to Mayberry, met Andy, went on a few dates, and then she was gone. Helen
on the other hand was with Andy for the long haul and those jealousy traits
had some time to develop and fester.

I have been married for 42 years to the same wonderful woman. I can
honestly say that neither of us has ever experienced one bit of jealousy.
I have many "girl friends" that I have worked with for many years and we
have very close friendships. My wife has worked all our married life among
hundreds of different men. The reason we haven't had any jealousy is
because we have trust.

For Valentine's Day I told my wife that I would like to give a Valentine to
three of the really nice women that I work with. She not only approved,
she went and bought the Valentines without my asking. I wrote in each one
and I asked her if she wanted to read what I wrote. She said no. She then
took the Valentines and drove to Festival Foods and delivered them to the
gals. Now that is the way our married life has been for 42 years. I
suppose I should add the disclaimer, that Linda also knows that there isn't
another woman out there who would ever want me, so she feels very safe.
