*Mayberry Friends,* *On the subject of who might have been the best sweetheart choice for* * Andy Taylor, I would pick Helen, hands down. Miss Ellie always seemed* *younger than I would think as a match for him. 'The Little Rich Girl'* *& 'The Nurse' were both pretty, sweet , intelligent & not to be completely cut * *out of the r**unning, but Helen seemed to me to be a better fit. She too was quite * *pretty, **very intelligent,* *and seemed to me as a likely match for a public* *official. She did have a more serious relationship with little Opie, but Opie, * *himself readily approved her as a mother.* *As to Helen showing a certain amount of jealousy, that made her seem more* *human to me. Maybe it balanced her schoolteacher, business like nature with * *her romantic nature? Sometimes I got the feeling that the writers were intending* *her jealous actions to be in jest, or to tease Andy.* *That's just how I viewed her anyway.
