Hello All
I agree the set dressers were very busy. As far as the picture goes, I am not
sure who it is. Someone suggested it was a very young Aunt Bee. I have tried
to enlarge it, but the picture becomes distorted, so have not been able to find
out. But, the boxes at the windows were a device to help air fro the outside.
Hot air was to go up cool air down and help with air circulation with a fan or
other windows. They were decorative. Bit while these were wood, some were
made of glass. As a seventh grader, I was standing at a classroom window,
watching the trees and traffic before the tardy bell rang. Some kids came over
and decided to take the fountain pen I had. When I resisted, I was pushed down
and my wrist was cut. It bled quite a bit. My Aunt was the teacher and she
had not arrived. My 7th grade boyfriend held pressure on the wound and my best
friend helped me stand. Another student went for the principal while we went
to the nurse. When my Aunt came to the room and found a ruckus, instead of an
orderly class, she was quite upset. Then when the Students and principal told
her what had happened, she was a woman on fire. While the principal covered
the class she carried the two students by their ears to the office and put them
in chairs. Then she came for me. We went to the ER and got stitched up. All
in al it was a fun day. Never say my aunt drag anyone ever again. But that
was something. The vents were removed. For filming, not only would they need
wood for putting them together and apart but also reflection and cameras.
I always loved watching the maps behind Andy's desk change from time to time.
