I have a theory about the points on the stars, but it is rather technical so I hope you can follow me. To the best of my knowledge a five pointed star has five points. Right. And a six pointed star has six points. So I think that probably the reason a six pointed star has six points and a five pointed star has five points is that there is one extra point on a six pointed start. Hope that can clear things up.
