Once again Barney has applied for fundings to upgrade the Mayberry Courthouse. I secretly bugged the courthouse with a portable tape recorder and managed to tape the conversation between Barney and the inspector.
Inspector: So Deputy Fife, if you do get funds for improvements will you be able to handle the new technology? Barney: Yes, I will. But Sheriff Taylor is a bit lax. If we get an I Pod he probably won't even be able to googoo with it because he is technology illigitimate. Inspector: I see on your form Deputy Fife that you do not want to receive cell phones. Why is that? Barney: I am totally against cell phones. There is no reason to put phones in the cells. If a prisoner needs to make a call he can use the one we have on the desk. Inspector: Do you need funds for DNA assistance? Barney: No, we do not need DNA assistance. The DNA is nothing but an interloper. If we need assistance we can call J. Edgar at the FBI.
