The word "skoal" is a very Scandinavian word that is said as a toast before taking a drink. My father came from Sweden and his common drink was a shot of whiskey with a beer chaser. If others were present he would always say "skoal" before taking the drink.
When my wife and I were in Sweden visiting relatives they would often have drinks in the evening. It is a Swedish custom to always look each person in the eye and say "skoal" before taking a drink from your glass. -- Ken Anderson The Mayberry Guru 2906 May Street Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701 www.mayberryreflections.com _______________________________________________ WBMUTBB mailing list [email protected] http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
