Tonight I had the pleasure of having an old friend stop in for a visit. I haven't seen him in years. He is 84 years old and he is a retired homicide detective from Milwaukee. It was the first time he has seen my squad car. We sat in the car for a long time and he reminisced about some of his early days as a police officer in the big city. His experiences were a far cry from our peaceful little Mayberry. He began his career in the early '60s so he said he spent a lot of hours in a squad car very similar to mine.
