You know you are in Mayberry when you meet a little boy on the sidewalk who's wearing a cowboy suit and eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. You know you are in Mayberry when you can walk into any shop on Main Street and the owner calls you by name. You know you are in Mayberry when you have a sheriff who deals with people by the heart and not by the book. You know you are in Mayberry when people go to the duck pond at night when they can't even see the ducks. You know you are in Mayberry when you can go to bed at night without locking the doors on your house. You know you are in Mayberry when people come together to help a neighbor and friend who is about to be evicted from their home. You know your are in Mayberry when your child can go to school without the fear of being exposed to violence or drugs.
