I know I said I wasn't going to post anything about my parades. And I am not. But I did not say anything about Mayberry's Founders' Day Parade this summer. I just received advanced notice of it.
The parade will be led by our Fat Little Mayor Pike's wife riding in on a horse. Their lovely daughter, Jaunita, will then sing "The Old Gray Mare Ain't What She Used to Be". Now it hasn't been determined whether this will be a tribute to the horse or Mayor Pike's wife. Following the mayor's wife, Otis Campbell will follow riding on a cow. Otis will then sing that well know hit song from the past "Staggerly". Following Otis there will be an open convertible with this year's queen wearing a bathing suit. This year it is Emma Watson's turn to be queen. The final unit in the parade will be the Mayberry Boy Scouts riding on the back of a hay wagon and they will all be drinking home made root beer. This will be the "Root Beer Float".
