I just wanted to let you know what has
gone on in Mayberry today. Barn has done it again! You know how Ang
sometimes likes to get Barney fired up. He got him talking about the
old days and what used to happen to his snowcones. Barn got so
worked up he went over to Vicky Harm's house and knocked on the door.
When she opened the door, Barney, in uniform, looked at her, bit the
end off his snowcone and sucked all the juice out of it! She got
scared, slammed the door and called the state police! As luck would
have it, that college kid, Jean Boswell, who works for the big
newspaper owner, Mr. Jackson, was right across the street and saw the
whole thing. She went to the payphone and called her boss. I'm sure
it will be in the paper tomorrow. The state police sent the
inspector to look into the matter. You know, Sam Allen is still on
leave, so that inspector that doesn't like Ang and Barn anyway, Ralph
Case, came to Mayberry to investigate. He's still in the middle of
his investigation, so no one knows what's gonna happen. To top it
all off, Earnest T came to town and chucked a rock through the
sheriff's department big window. Thelma Lou was so incensed at Barn
for going to Vicky's house she wouldn't even go to the duck pond with
him!
