I watched the episode where Thelma Lou's cousin gets involved in a skeet shooting contest...actually, I watched it yesterday and again today..But anyway, when she an Andy are out at Finnegan's Flats and he begins to shoot crows..He asks Karen if she likes shooting and she says she does.Then he says most women don't and she responds that's not the case with her....Afterwards she is at Thelma Lou's and Thelma Lou the subject of her being a champion skeet shooter nevercame up. It seems to me she had plenty of opportunity to tell him given the conversation she and Andy had. What if she would have told him. It would have changed the whole plot of the show..Maybe they would have created a male vs. female scenerio similiar to one Opie had with Helen's niece Cynthia. They could have met a the contest and with a tie at 25 to 25 it could start raining which would delay the tie breaker until the next day, similiar to the bowling tournament Howard was in. The outcome could still be the same but it would be interesting to know what went on between Andy and Karen over night...You know what, I'll bet that idea was on the table and being such great writers they kicked a few ideas around and settled for the one we watched...which regardless, is still a great ending...They even showed the epilogue on this one which they seldom do...
