The first time the Darlings visited Mayberry, Aunt Bee and Andy were sitting on the porch when they heard the music playing. Andy said "it's the Darlings", and Aunt Bee said it is too late in the season for Starlings". With that Andy went off to arrest the Darlings.About 30 minutes later, all 6 of the Darlings were sitting in jail eating Aunt Bee's beans. That got me to thinking. As most of you know, beans take quite a while to cook, 3 or 4 hours. And who has a big old pot of beans lying around their kitchen? It would have been more appropriate for Aunt Bee to have fed the Darlings leftovers or sandwiches. Orville Hendricks - Mount Pilot Butter and Egg Man.
