I am currently reading One Stayed at Welcome, the last book that Maud Hart Lovelace and her husband wrote together decades ago. In it, the main characters are on a riverboat bound for Minnesota and an itinerant musician/traveler regales them with "Ole Dan Tucker;" except he ends it with "you're too late to come to supper."
