I have some rather disturbing news to report which I had hoped could wait until after Christmas, but I feel it is much too important to hold back.
Our beloved Sheriff Andy Taylor is once again being investigated by the North Carolina Attorney General's office. The charges are rather serious. He is being accused of running a Bed and Breakfast without a license. And I must admit the evidence is rather damaging. Case being: 1. One Otis Campbell has a personal key to the Mayberry Court House. 2, Whenever he needs a place to sleep, said Otis Campbell is allowed to check himself into the Mayberry Courthouse so he can spend the night and also use its "facilities". 3. Upon awakening during each stay, Otis Campbell is presented with a complimentary full course breakfast. 4. Following breakfast, and after letter writing, and washing out a few things, Mr. Campbell is then allowed to check him self out without ever being presented with a bill. Now if that doesn't sound like a B & B I don't know what does. The above information will be used as evidence when Sheriff Taylor appears at his hearing, shortly after Christmas.
