The other day David mentioned reading on IMDb that baby Evie Joy in the episode "A Baby in the House" was "played" by George Lindsey's real-life daughter. I certainly had never heard that before, so I did a little fact-checking. According to George's autobiography, his daughter Camden Jo was born June 19, 1964, which would have made her about 1 year and 9 months old at the time that episode aired on March 7, 1966. Therefore, there's no way that could have been her in that episode. She would have been much too old.
It is standard practice, when a TV show or movie calls for a baby, to use identical twins dressed exactly alike. If the baby starts crying and ruins a take, they just switch him/her for the other twin and continue shooting. Maggie Peterson confirmed that this was done in the episode with Charlene's baby, Andelina, and it's only natural to assume other episodes would have followed the same practice. Keep in mind that IMDb is like Wikipedia. Anybody can log in and edit things on there, so there's a good chance some of the info on that site is faulty. Some folks insist on putting a little extra jam on the bread. Speaking of that episode, and since we're supposed to keep things positive here, let me say that is one of my favorites; as a matter of fact, it ranks a very solid 249th in my list of all my favorite TAGS episodes.
