In "Andy's Vacation" Barney chastised Andy for not taking his vacation time he had coming because of the tourists. I had to laugh at that as I wondered what would tourist do in Mayberry. Well after studying the matter for a while I realized there were a lot of places to visit and things to do for tourist in Mayberry.
They could go to the Duck Pond and watch the ducks. They could go to Flinnigan's Flats and shoot crows. They could go to the dump and shoot rats or dig around looking for thrown away girlie magazines.. They could go to Meyer's Lake and fish. They could explore Indian Caves. They could see the Old Rimshaw House. They could take off their shoes and go wading, skip stones, and talk to the hawks. They could stop at Walker's Drug store for a cherry phosphate. They could stop in at Wally's for a bottle of pop and some free air.
