Funny how when you think of TAGS you really don't think of the color episodes. I had forgotten about Barney's visits from Raleigh. However, we don't actually see him sleeping there; he didn't come down to breakfast or say "goodnight" and head upstairs, and I don't recall any particular line implying that he stayed there. Not being a deputy anymore he wouldn't have stayed at the court house and he certainly wasn't keeping his boarding room paid up so he must have stayed at the Taylors. We know he was such a skin flint he wouldn't have splurged on a hotel room.
