Mayberry town council, under the leadership of its Fat Little Mayor Pike just passed an ordinance that would limit the amount of money a man had to give his wife each month for her personal needs. They voted to limit it to $35 a month. Some of the wives wanted at least $40 to help them get through some of the longer months with 31 days. But it was voted down on the theory that if you give them $40 they will want $45 and if you give them $45 they will want $50.
